ok.. how do you defined menopause... the best person who can express the definition of this hormonal imbalances are usually women, to cut it short, MOTHERS!!!...seriously, the effect comes in a bonus package.. all-in-one...what a true bid, i say...
my mother experiences menopause at the age of 36, where she has to remove her one ovary and the rest of her uterus..she had a fibroid..was huge.. dont wanna have any more flash back again...
i just finished my form 3 when she was admitted in the hospital.. the most aching part of all is that none of us even bothered to share her anxiety nor her pain.. my dad was thinking that this is just one of her sickness, besides migraine.. my mom visited her gynecology and plan the whole thing on her own, from the date of surgery to transportation.. the day of her surgery, due to some family reasons, she drove all the way to a hospital in penang alone.. she enters the surgery room with only my brother beside her, and he went with my uncle.. that day, herself has gone, what came out was no longer our mother, our strong, iron mother..what came out was one sensitive, mood-swing mother... we missed her... nway, what came out was a barbarian..
she can really fight, with or without army (my bro, and i)...
then out of sudden, my whole family join the menopause club.. her mood swings influence her family and friends.. her nagging sessions put the family into a burning hell... and to wrap it up.. her health was deteriorating.. although most of us are starting to hate her.. but the constant visits to her gynecology has been awaken us with the up's and down's of menopause.. and slowly, but surely, we start to see my mother again behind that menopause jinx.. i will always refer it as jinx..
.however, after almost 5 years of pain, im proud that i have embrace that moment now while stepping into adulthood.. as usual, the constant drama will be never end.. however, at least right now,, we understood, menopause is the ending and the beginning of a woman's life... so, be proud of your mother no matter what situation or condition she might be...
